“Artline Joinery were recommended to me as I wanted an oak staircase built with wrought iron spindles coming down the stairs and along a galleried landing. They were out to measure up and quote with a couple of days and had the quote emailed to me straight away. They were incredibly quick and efficient and laid out everything very clearly. Once we accepted the quote, drawings and pictures were created showing exactly what the finish look would be, to confirm we were happy. What an amazing job they have done, quick and efficiently and the attention to detail is amazing. I can’t recommend these guys highly enough.”

I am really happy we had contracted Artline Joinery.

After renovating our apartment we looked for a company that will help with furnishing it. We had the best experience with Chris and his team from the very first meeting to the final touch-ups. Chris was good listener and had excellent ideas. He knew exactly how to maximize use of the space. And with his cheerful nature it was pleasure to had him on site. But most of all the furniture Arline Joinery made was high above our expectations. Great quality, beautiful looking.

“As an multi award winning Interior Design Studio it's imperative that the suppliers and trades we use not only can deliver but also represent the ethos, quality and design detailing that we ourselves deliver with excellence as standard, Artline Joinery follow this ethic to the last letter.

We have worked with Artline Joinery for nearly 8 years and they complete all of our bespoke joinery exclusively. Each time Chris and his trusted and loyal team step up time and time again, never phased, they discuss issues before they are issued and designs are adapted accordingly and their aftercare is unquestionable. Quirky and fun to work with. They have become a fundamental part of our work family and whilst we don't want them to get too busy they lose sight of this, we also want them to be enjoyed by others, they really are wonderful to work with and clients adore them. We have them booked in many projects throughout 2022 which is a testament that they deliver what we design to the highest of standards year in year out.”

2c Company History

Artline Joinery Ltd was Incorporated in January 2014, but it's roots go back far further. Artline founder Chris Schodowski began his training as a carpenter in his teens before moving to France looking for Summer employment to support his University studies. He found work at the "Chambre Avec Vue" in Provance, a specialised residency for artists and writers featuring a gallery and bed & breakfast. When owners Kamila Regent and Pierre Jaccuad realised Chris' assistance was becoming invaluable they requested he stay and a single season in Provance transformed into a three year placement.

A rich history underpins our passion to unite form & function

It was here at the "Chambre Avec Vue" that the ethos of Artline Joinery began to emerge. This immersion everyday in a wealth of diverse creative talent allowed Chris to develop an innate appreciation of form and structure, and this bound with his burgeoning passion for crafting furniture. In subsequent years as Chris continued to meticulously hone his craft, at his core remained the fundamental ethos to unify fine art and the everyday object, uniting the romance of the arts with the solid practicality of wooden furniture; form and function intertwined. When it came time to name the company Chris chose "Artline" in homage to the company's founding principles.

With over 25 years experience as a professional carpenter and joiner, Chris now leads a team of equally dedicated craftspeople at Artline, where his rich history still informs his endeavour of forging practical furniture of quality and style.
